BL RAG candidates take questions from the audience... #qmelections
Finally different ideas, and questions that demands the candidates have to knw about their position #QMelections #RAG
Audience questions: Why you? Marathons raise money through the tube, what alternative events would you provide? What would you do about the TFL issue?

Onto BL Societies Officer, three candidates standing #qmelections
I should probably stop being a troll and ruining @sam_creighton pictures. #qmelections
Societies officer is up next. This position entered a by election because no candidates were nominated in the first round. Very contentious and not all candidates have shown up, even though the enter the process after all over nominations. AWKWARD.
Talah Atcha speaks first. He wants to expand societies and sort out room bookings #qmelections
Three of your Societies Officer (Barts and The London) are up now: Talhah Atcha, Rachel Wright and Muhammad Hureeman #QMelections
Following the 'riverting' #QMelections topic @warrenvalentine ?
Rachel Wright is next. She wants to get societies working together and make it easier to set up new socs #qmelections
Rachel Wright's speech interrupting by a phone in the back of the lecture theatre. Rubbish ringtone.
why do they all get same time limit for q&a regardless of amount of questions
Chris - Fair comment. The structure doesn't seem to be working excellently as they are all forgetting the questions asked.
Kureeman Zaid talks about his experience with BL Socs. Doesn't mention any policies #qmelections
So many poems, shoulda prepared a rap. Shall I wing it with the rhymes? #QMelections
Wilson Wong asks "any collaboration with QM societies?". Zaid attacks other candidates with hand gestures as he passionately responds.
Our audience asks 'Are there plans for collaboration with Mile End societies' and 'What's your view on religious societies' #QMelections
Just going to say it: the body language of some of these candidates is beyond terrible. #qmelections
Stopped using tweetdeck cos I keep tweeting from my own account instead of @qmessenger's #qmelections
Until the self-appointed important people sort out their social media policy @Trundlez I will not follow any #QMelections
Wright would like to see more Mile End collaboration and promotion of societies that are available at BL. Wright is honest to admit she not informed enough to comment on certain societies but willing to enter debate over the issues. Refreshing to hear someone admit they don't know about the issue.
Some good questions between cross collaboration between BL and ME societies. #QMelections
Trying the judge the reaction to the question of cross-campus collaboration in the room. Historic feud between BL and QM and the in light of the attempted merging of sports teams by BUCS, its understandable if peoples' ears prick up.
Interesting that room bookings seem to be a problem on both the whitechapel and mile end campus #QMelections
Mark Gregory and Alexander Osborne the candidates for Sports Officer (Barts and The London) are next #QMelections
Sports officer candidates: Alex Osborne and Mark Gregory. Alex opens with the BUCS issue I just raised. Is also against the merger!
Alexander Osborne, BL sports officer candidate speaking now. He wants to protect the BL identity #qmelections
i haven't seen a doctor yet who i would want to put their finger up my bum. #qmelections
Gregory also raises the issue of BUCS and QM Sports Development Team. BUCS threat is "very real". He has six years at university sport. Captain of BL Hockey and knows it can work better at Barts. Wants to "preserve" BL sports.
Mark Gregory is also worried about the supposed 'threat' to the BL identity from Mile End and BUCS #qmelections
"Union is rapidly developing sports department. How would you ensure BL clubs benefit?"
Gregory opens. QMSU has an undertone of merging BL with ME sports. Focus on participation rather than merging team. Ultimately leads to several elite teams, not just one or two.
Mark Gregory says that QMSU wants to merge QM and BL sport. He says divide must stay so participation can improve #QMelections
Osborne says "more funding is good" but "is it necessarily what we want"? Very fair comment. What is the price of BL sports? Traditions need to be maintained.
I'm scared that I'll say the wrong thing about other candidates and get disqualified. Nightmare. #QMElections
Why can't you comment on specific members of staff? It makes no sense. #QMElections
How can we get James Martin to reply to emails? George intervenes as candidates can't comment on specific staff members. Question rephrased. How can we improve QMSU communication?
"How can we get James Mountain to reply to emails?" asks the audience. The questions is not allowed, question is rephrased #qmelections
Gregory says that professionalism is the best way to maintain solid communication. He is the "best man for the job"
Gregory praises #GetActive scheme #qmelections
QM Get Active, their flagship scheme this year, unheard of by Alex
Candidates for VP Barts and London are addressing our crowd: Samuel Chequer and Mandip Pal (or just 'Mandi and Sam') #QMelections
